| Bio: | Name: Addison Rorkov Date of Birth: March 28, 1985 Age: 23 Race/Species: Gifted Human - Cryokinetic Hometown: LA Physical description: If she had any style she proscribed to, it would be ‘scene’ or ‘punk’. However, it’s just best to go with artsy as a description, as she doesn’t particularly care to be tagged with a label. For the most part, she simply throws on a band shirt, some chunky or flashy jewelry, a pair of jeans, and bright sneakers. It’s her hair that really makes her stand out, actually. If her long blond locks are actually, well, blond, something’s very wrong. Usually, it’s a vibrant mixture of chunky streaks of a variety colors layered in with the blond. Physically, Addison is, by no means, a blond waif. She is not overly muscular, but she has a solid build. This comes mostly from her chosen profession of metal welder and sculptor. PB: Avril Lavigne Personality: No nonsense definitely sums it up. Addie can be the life of the party when she wants, but anyone who crosses her receives more than a cold shoulder. She’s sarcastic and aggressive, but would rather have her ‘opponent’ retaliate with the same than back down or run off. Despite her forceful personality, Addie is relatively down to earth. She despises prejudice of any kind, though, and may not recognize when it is best to keep her mouth shut in such cases. Background: Addie was on her own as soon as she could cook her own food. And by cook her own food, that would be pour her own milk onto her cereal. Her mom, being the intelligent one, had ditched the family shortly after Addie was born. Dad was certainly no prize – he was too strung out most of the time to care about anything. And when he wasn’t, he was drunk. And when he was drunk, he was mean. It was probably the mean that had driven Mom away. Addie remembered her coming by once. She was in second grade, and it was her birthday. She was walking home from school and she stopped, dead in her tracks, when she saw what she thought was an angel standing in front of her house. Mom was dressed all in white and her long, blond hair shone in the sunlight so that there honestly seemed to be a halo over her head. She was holding a package wrapped in shiny blue paper. Walking over to Addie, she knelt and kissed the top of her head. “Happy birthday, honey,” she said, handing her the package. Addie just stared at it. After five minutes of silence, her mom turned around, got in the car, and left. It was the closest thing to a birthday party she’d ever had. Daniel had found her there, in front of the house, hours later, still holding the package. He’d led her inside and opened the gift for her. It was a snow globe with a blown glass crystal inside of it. He’d gotten real quiet, but then he led her into his room and rummaged through his closet. Way at the back, wrapped carefully in tissue paper and closed up in a cardboard box, was an identical snowglobe. Crystal snowglobes were definitely not cool for 13 year old boys. Addie watched him quietly, then went back into the kitchen, took her globe, and hid it in her closet, as well. Daniel did his best to watch after his little sister, but he couldn’t always protect her from Daddy’s fists, nor the general evils of the world. Especially not when he was facing his own evils. The two, however, were especially close, being for each other, the only other person who cared for the other. Shortly after Addie’s only birthday party, Daniel disappeared for several days. When he came back, he was wearing the same clothes he had worn when he disappeared, he was dirty, and he smelled. Their father had gotten up, drunk, and had raised his hand, but suddenly stopped. Daniel didn’t flinch, or show any aggression. He just looked at his father, and his father stopped. Addie, watching from the doorway, stayed very still and very quiet. He may turn on her. Instead, Daddy went into the kitchen and out the side door, and Daniel went into the bathroom. He took a shower that lasted for hours – right up to bed time. That night, when Addie had nightmares, he wouldn’t let her sleep in his bed. It was the first time he wouldn’t let her in. It wasn’t till nearly a year later that Daniel shared his secret with her. It was the middle of summer and Addie was sitting on the couch, panting in the heat. The water had been turned off, again, and they hadn’t had electricity in weeks. Daniel was sitting on floor, tinkering with some sort of engine. Suddenly, he looked up at her and said, “You hot?” Addie nodded her head. Daniel stood up, studied her for a minute, then put his hand on her forehead. Slowly, she was aware his hand was getting cooler and cooler. When he pulled his hand away, she saw ice crystals on it. Smiling nervously, he shrugged, “Pretty cool, huh?” Addie nodded again. Following Danny around meant Addie spent a lot of time in junkyards and garages. Daniel loved building things. Addie wasn’t interested in that, at least not in the way Danny was. Instead, she liked to build things that leapt out of her imagination. Grudgingly, Danny taught her to weld, but once he realized she wasn’t going to steal his thunder as a mechanic, he was fully supportive of her endeavors. It was their shared interests that truly kept them close as they aged. Addie went to all the same parties he did, and it was Danny who gave her, her first line coke. Unlike their father, neither kid was a true addict. Both just enjoyed partying. Addie developed her power much like her brother, although her discovery of her abilities was much less traumatic than her brother’s discovery. He never talked about it, but as they never kept secrets, she guessed it was pretty bad. The only real training either had, was the way they would challenge the other to outdo each other. They became quite skilled, but really, it was just parlor tricks. Once Danny was able to support them both, he moved them as far from their father as possible - all the way to Boston, MA. There, he opened his own garage and Addie was able to go to college at one of the city’s renowned art schools. Both kids, despite their rough starts, clung to schooling as if it were the one good thing in their lives. As hard as they partied on the weekends, they studied just as hard during the week, often staying at school till late in the night. Addie was lucky enough to go to school in the city on full scholarship. After school, she found a job at a construction company, and works on her art from her loft apartment when she’s not working or partying. Addie and Danny’s crazy lifestyle eventually led them to less… normal company. Vampires, werewolves… supernaturals in general. And eventually, they got word about the local school for supernaturals. Danny’s life was set, and he had no damn intention of ever stepping foot in another institution that would tell him what to do. Addie, on the other hand, was interested in developing her powers. Besides, it would sure as hell be fun to stir some things up. Abilities: Addie is able to create ice sculptures, as well as lower the ambient temperature and the body temperature of herself and others, simply by concentrating. She is not exceptionally skilled with any of these abilities, but she has used them in self-defense in particularly harrowing situations. Weaknesses: All human weaknesses.
